The croslet horseshoe bat is a small cave-roosting Rhinolophus of Myanmar, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia. Its species identity rests on detailed noseleaf, skull and echolocation characters; a regional revision separated it carefully from Shamel's horseshoe bat, whose range overlaps in continental Southeast Asia (specialist taxonomic review; Mammal Diversity Database).

It is associated with caves and surrounding forest, and Thai records span northern, western, central and southern provinces. Colonies may be locally large, but dependable species-wide figures are unavailable. Like other horseshoe bats it detects and captures nocturnal insects using nasal constant-frequency echolocation (Thai cave-fauna checklist; specialist taxonomic review). It is Nationally Least Concern (Thailand Red Data 2025).
