Range

Mainland and Sundaic Southeast Asia

Blanford's false serotine is a small Hesperoptenus with a broad muzzle, short rounded ears and dark brown fur. A distinctive second upper incisor and cranial features separate false serotines from superficially similar pipistrelles (Mammal Diversity Database; regional bat field guide).

It occurs through mainland and Sundaic Southeast Asia in lowland forest. Individuals are usually netted along forest trails and edges and hunt small flying insects after dusk. Roosts are thought to occur in trees or concealed structures, but species-specific reproductive information remains limited (regional forest-bat surveys). It is Nationally Least Concern (Thailand Red Data 2025).
