Crocidura vorax
Range
Northern India and southern China through Laos, Thailand and Vietnam
The voracious white-toothed shrew is a comparatively large Crocidura from northern India and southern China through Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. It is larger than both the Indochinese and Chinese white-toothed shrews, a useful distinction in a group whose external appearance is otherwise very similar (Mammal Diversity Database; specialist Southeast Asian shrew revision).
Thai biodiversity records place it in northern, north-eastern, central and western regions. Reliable species-level details of its diet, reproduction and body measurements are not available in the opened sources, and generic shrew traits are not substituted. Confirmed records depend heavily on specimens and taxonomic comparison (Thailand Biodiversity Information Facility; Mammal Diversity Database). It is Nationally Data Deficient (Thailand Red Data 2025).
