Basic stats

Habitat

Lowland and hill forest

Range

Southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and parts of western Indonesia

Robinson's squirrel is a medium-sized Sundasciurus with brown to dark-brown upperparts and white to buff underparts; colour varies among its named populations. Ventral colour and tail pattern help separate it from other western Sundaic Sundasciurus (specialist squirrel taxonomy; Mammal Diversity Database).

It is recorded from southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and parts of western Indonesia, chiefly in lowland and hill forest. It is a diurnal tree squirrel, but dependable species-specific information on diet, reproduction and population ecology remains limited, so related-species values are not substituted (specialist taxonomic literature). No national category is stated because it is absent under this name from Thailand Red Data 2025.
