Eastern Thailand, Cambodia, southern Laos and southern Vietnam
The Cambodian striped squirrel is a small member of the squirrel family found in eastern Thailand, Cambodia, southern Laos and southern Vietnam. Males and females are alike in body size, coat colour and stripe pattern, and the coat does not show a marked seasonal colour change. Two subspecies are listed in the general account (Wikipedia, general species account). It is Nationally Near Threatened (Thailand Red Data 2025).
It is active by day and lives in trees. Recorded observations come from Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, and it may occur alongside the Himalayan striped squirrel. Its social behaviour has not been reported; claims inferred from related squirrels are therefore excluded here. The available account likewise supplies no species-specific breeding information that can be used safely (Animal Diversity Web).
