The black-legged kittiwake is a compact oceanic gull with grey wings, black wingtips, yellow bill and black legs. It breeds in dense colonies on narrow ledges of northern sea cliffs and spends the non-breeding season offshore. Birds take small fish and marine invertebrates from the surface or by shallow plunging, rarely scavenging inland like many other gulls (Wikipedia, general species account). It is Nationally Vulnerable (Thailand Red Data 2025).
