Size

13cm

The Pacific swallow is a small swallow 13 cm long, with a blue-black back and crown, browner wings and tail, a red face and throat and dusky underparts. One account treats the Tahiti swallow, found on Moorea and Tahiti in French Polynesia, as a separate species formerly considered conspecific with the Pacific swallow of tropical southern Asia, so lists that use the older, wider name refer to the Asian bird (Wikipedia, general species account).
