The white-faced plover is a tiny, pale shorebird with sandy upperparts, white forehead and face, and dark patches at the breast sides. Formerly treated as part of the Kentish plover, it is associated with sandy beaches and coastal flats from southern China into mainland Southeast Asia. Birds run over sand and wrack lines to pick small invertebrates and nest in a shallow beach scrape (Wikipedia, general species account). It is Nationally Near Threatened (Thailand Red Data 2025).
