The red phalarope is a small swimming shorebird. Females are brighter than males in breeding plumage, with chestnut underparts and a white face; winter birds are pale grey and white. It breeds beside Arctic pools and spends winter far offshore, spinning on the water to bring aquatic invertebrates within reach. Males incubate and rear the young (Wikipedia, general species account). It is Nationally Least Concern (Thailand Red Data 2025).
