Southeastern and southern Asia

The flat-tailed house gecko, also called the frilled house gecko, is native to southeastern and southern Asia and is sometimes placed in the genus Cosymbotus. It has skin flaps (patagia) on the trunk, tail and thigh that it uses in gliding, formed from expansions of fat along the sides, as in gliding geckos of the genus Gekko. The body is depressed with a dermal expansion from armpit to groin and another along the rear of the hind limb, and the ear opening is small and oval (Wikipedia, general species account).
